Artist Statement

This work is dedicated to Amanda, my biological sister. I found out I had a full biological sister when I was a child. In 2019 my sister and I met for the first time at a restaurant in upstate New York. In my life I had never felt so close and yet so distant from someone. For years I thought about her and what her life was like before meeting. During the process of creating my thesis, I finally found some answers. This body of work captures moments of memory from when I was a child. Discovering my own identity after building a relationship with Amanda and creating new memories. These photographs show the relationship between me, my family, and my sister. New experiences that remind me of home.
